Job summary

Ohio State University’s Digital Pathology Department seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to prepare and process microscopy slides for scanning, directing materials to pathologists, and supporting diagnostic workflows. Responsibilities include handling requests for diagnostic specimens, recording projects in Beaker and related systems, and daily collaboration with pathologists and Histology teams.

A high school diploma is required; an associate or higher in medical laboratory tech or bioscience

Qualifications

• High school education required; Associates degree or higher preferred in medical laboratory technology or biological science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Meets minimum continuing education requirements; health surveillance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process microscopy slides for scanning and direct materials to pathologists and other pathology personnel.
• Respond to requests for diagnostic pathology specimens from investigators, OSUWMC entities, and outside offices.
• Record specimens/projects using Beaker and other databases for tracking stages of completion.
• Interact with pathologists and collaborate with Histology and Surgical Pathology teams daily.
