Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian Histology Laboratory is seeking a Histology Image Scan Technician to support digital pathology and telepathology initiatives. The role focuses on transforming traditional slides into high-quality digital images for pathologist review, with a daylight schedule and a team-driven environment.

The position involves equipment troubleshooting, slide loading onto scanners, QA of images, data metrics, and collaboration with the digital imaging team to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary resource for imaging system equipment knowledge, troubleshooting and data information.
• Load prepared microscopic slides onto the digital image scanner for pathologist review.
• Assist with laboratory slide preparation and delivery operations to limit disruption to workflow.
• Perform quality assurance evaluation on scanned images.
• Confirm slides are scanned as complete cases.
• Prepare and analyze data metrics related to imaging system reliability.
• Collaborate with the digital imaging implementation team to ensure success.
