Job summary

The Marek Group, Inc. is seeking a Digital Press Operator to set up and run our Canon digital printing press. You will produce high-quality products efficiently while following customer specs, delivery timelines, and production targets.

This role requires a mechanical mindset, the ability to work the 11 PM–7 AM shift, and a willingness to learn Canon Color, Xerox Color, or HP Color Ink Jet processes. Training is available to support growth.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude is required.
• Willingness to work 3rd shift (11 PM–7 AM CST).
• Experience with Canon Color, Xerox Color, or HP Color Ink Jet preferred; training available.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot digital press.
• Perform color matching of supplied materials.
• Document and communicate diagnostic feedback from equipment to resolve issues.
• Read and understand job tickets.
• Complete paperwork for each job.
• Communicate with prepress, customer service and management.
• Maintain equipment and conduct monthly inventory for the department.
• Uphold safety, productivity, and housekeeping guidelines.

WHAT YOULL BE DOING

While working under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Digital Press Operator will be a key member of our digital department. This position will set up and operate our Canon digital printing press. Produce high quality products in the most efficient and cost-effective manner with attentiveness to customer specifications, delivery requirements, and production targets.

• Ability to work 3rd Shift 11pm-7am
• Experience with Canon Color, Xerox Color, or HP Color Ink Jet preferred. We are willing to train.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.

• Operate and troubleshoot digital press.
• Perform color matching of supplied materials.
• Interpret, document, and communicate diagnostic feedback from the equipment and act upon information to resolve production or maintenance issues.
• Ability to read and understand job tickets.
• Complete the necessary paperwork required for each job.
• Communicate effectively with prepress, customer service and management.
• Maintains all necessary equipment and performs monthly inventory on departmental items.
• Maintains the highest level of safety and productivity with minimal waste. Ensure compliance to safety guidelines, work rules and housekeeping policies.
• Experience with Canon Color, Xerox Color, or HP Color Ink Jet preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Requires a high school diploma. Previous experience in print industry preferred but willing to train.

TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGY

• Experience with Canon Color, Xerox Color, or HP Color Ink Jet preferred.
• Ability to use a computerized system to record operations.
• Ability to operate and trouble-shoot digital press machines.

• Must be able to lift and move materials weighing 25–30 pounds, as part of routine pressroom duties.
