Job summary

WFSB-TV/Gray Media in Connecticut seeks a Digital News Content Producer to support the daily flow of news to the newsroom and ensure coverage on-air and across the station's digital platforms.

The CP gathers meaningful news information, generates story ideas, schedules crews, and takes in live feeds, creating content aligned with and enhancing the station brand. This is a high-pressure role with deadline-driven requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/experience required.

Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• The Content Producer assists with the daily flow of news to the newsroom for appropriate coverage both on-air and on the station's digital platforms.
• The CP gathers meaningful news information from various sources. They also generate story ideas, discern credible news tips, schedule news crews, and take in live feeds.
• The CP is also responsible for creating content that is aligned with and enhances the station brand.
• The CP is also responsible for publishing content on multiple digital platforms, OTT, and social media.
• The CP should have solid news judgment, a sound grasp of online journalism, and a sense of urgency for breaking news.
• This is a high-pressure, deadline-focused position, which requires a self-starter who is flexible and can multitask.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
