Job summary

The University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks a Digital Media Coordinator to support communications, marketing, and digital engagement for the Anesthesiology and Surgery departments. You will help develop, produce, and distribute digital content across social media, web, and email platforms.

Under the Communications Manager, you will manage social content, publish announcements, design materials, edit websites, and provide photography/videography for events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• One year of relevant communications, marketing, digital media, or related experience
• Strong written and visual communication skills
• Experience creating content for digital platforms
• Experience with social media management, graphic design, website editing, and photography preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage departmental social media: content planning, creation, scheduling, publishing, and performance tracking across platforms.
• Develop and publish departmental communications including announcements, introductions, and event promotions.
• Design digital and print materials (flyers, posters, presentations) aligning with brand standards.
• Maintain departmental websites via CMSs, QA content for accessibility and accuracy.
• Provide photography and basic videography for events and outreach, manage media assets.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, trainees, and partners to support communications initiatives and calendars.
