  • Write, edit, produce, schedule, and publish original digital content, including social posts, photography, reels, stories, short-form video, and basic platform-ready graphics when needed.
  • Collaborate with the Museum’s established in-house graphic design team to identify and communicate the audience, context, specifications, formats, and deadlines for digital assets; follow the Museum’s established design language when adapting or supplementing approved graphics for digital publication, as needed.
  • Proactively identify stories across the Museum and gather accurate, engaging content from colleagues, artists, partners, and program participants.
  • Monitor comments, messages, mentions, and emerging conversations; respond within approved guidelines and elevate sensitive, reputational, media, or visitor-service matters.
  • Provide live or near-real-time coverage of selected programs and events, including occasional evening and weekend assignments.
  • Execute approved paid social campaigns, including audience setup, creative variations, scheduling, budget pacing, testing, and performance monitoring.
  • Maintain and update assigned website content through the content management system, including exhibitions, programs, events, visitor information, and other priority pages.

  • Coordinate with Museum departments to gather complete and accurate information, clarify objectives and production needs, and meet deadlines.
  • Translate institutional priorities and subject-matter expertise into clear, audience-centered digital content.
  • Track assigned projects, deadlines, approvals, and production status through established project-management tools and processes.
  • Support media relations, campaigns, and institutional announcements through approved digital assets and monitoring; the Director Communications and Marketing leads media strategy and spokesperson functions.
  • Apply established brand, editorial, style, visual, and messaging standards to all assigned work.
  • Follow digital accessibility best practices, including alt text, captions, readable design, and accessible links and documents.
  • Confirm required permissions, releases, credits, music and media rights, and privacy considerations before publishing.
  • Elevate high-risk, confidential, legal, crisis-related, or institution-wide matters for review before responding or publishing.
  • Provide additional digital production support as priorities and capacity permit.
