Job summary

Cambria County Library is seeking a dynamic Reference Librarian to work daily at the Reference desk; assist patrons with research, digital literacy, and technology questions; manage the collection and provide reader’s advisory. The role requires collaboration with staff and community partners.

The position involves assisting with computer questions, using Spark ILS for holds and circulation, and supporting adult programming. A Master’s in Library Science is required.

Responsibilities

• Work daily at the Reference desk and answer questions by phone, in person, and online.
• Assist patrons with computer, smartphone questions and digital literacy.
• Plan and implement adult programming and reader’s advisory.
• Manage and select materials for the collection; weed and update.
• Use Spark ILS to search, place holds, and manage circulation.
• Provide genealogy and local history reference services as needed.
• Collaborate with staff and partner organizations.
