Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, is seeking a Digital Image Management Associate to manage digital images with PACS/EHR, support clinicians and patients, and help ensure confidential handling of radiology records to maintain data integrity and smooth workflows.

You will work Monday-Friday 3pm-11:30pm, perform image retrieval, processing, transfers, QA checks, and collaborate with ED, radiology, and IT staff while adhering to HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for all levels; Associate's degree preferred.
• Experience in healthcare radiology imaging, PACS support, or customer service is expected at Level I.
• Advanced PACS/EHR knowledge and QA/QC familiarity for Levels II/III.

Responsibilities

• Image management: organize, store, retrieve, and distribute digital images using PACS and EHR systems.
• Data entry and processing: document ROIs, update records, merge images, handle import/export requests.
• Customer service: communicate professionally with clinicians, patients, and facilities.
• Perform technical tasks: upload/export/transfer images; verify study labels and image counts; troubleshoot issues.
• Triage and relay urgent patient information to ED/Trauma/Transfer and Radiologists.
• Ensure HIPAA and safety compliance and adherence to regulatory standards.
