Job summary

Hidden Level is seeking a Digital Hardware Engineer to design custom hardware and firmware for advanced sensors and communication systems. The role is based onsite in Syracuse, NY, with some remote flexibility.

You will own circuit design, HDL development, and toolchain integration to deliver real-time RF sensing capabilities for defense and commercial applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Understanding of digital and analog circuits.
• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog to configure FPGAs and other embedded systems.
• Ability to travel 10%.

Responsibilities

• Perform part selection, schematic design, and aid in layout activities.
• Maintain component libraries and create new parts for schematic capture.
• Perform functional test and verification activities for new hardware and aid in production transition and support.
• Design HDL solutions for the latest Xilinx FPGAs and SoC devices.
• Perform timing closure and create well constrained, maintainable solutions that are easily extensible and resource-efficient.
• Use scripting languages such as Python and Bash to automate and improve workflows.

Digital Hardware Engineer

Position Overview:

As we expand, we're looking for a Digital Hardware Engineer who will apply their skills and experience to design custom hardware and firmware for cutting-edge sensors and communication systems.

Location:

We do our best work together! This role is primarily onsite in Syracuse, NY, with some flexibility to work remotely when the role and schedule allow.

Responsibilities:

• Perform part selection, schematic design, and aid in layout activities
• Maintain component libraries and create new parts for schematic capture
• Perform functional test and verification activities for new hardware and aid in production transition and support
• Design HDL solutions for the latest Xilinx FPGAs and SoC devices

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering, or related field
• Understanding of digital and analog circuits
• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog to configure FPGAs and other embedded systems
• Ability to travel 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience testing and validating analog and digital hardware using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.
• Experience with modern Xilinx FPGAs and the Vivado design environment
• Experience with Communication and Sensor systems, Digital Signal Processing, Software Defined Radios, and RF System Design
• Experience with Matlab , Python, and Linux

Compensation and Benefits: Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, disability insurance, and potential stock options.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is estimated at $85,000 to $90,000 annually. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
