Job summary

CACI International is seeking a cleared Digital Forensic Examiner to conduct forensic examinations of digital evidence and support investigations and vulnerabilities with industry-standard tools. The role requires deployment readiness and strong reporting skills.

The candidate will analyze complex data sets, document findings, and contribute to technical discussions on methodologies, while using common Microsoft Office tools to communicate results and support mission execution.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Combination of degree and years of experience per the qualifications.
  • Must be physically able and willing for global deployment.
  • Experience with electronic schematic design/interpretation.
  • Ability to identify electronic components and characterize circuits.
  • Experience with lab bench equipment (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes).
  • Solid understanding of RF communications and measurements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic examinations including collection, processing, analysis, interpretation and preservation of digital evidence.
  • Examine digital devices and media to support vulnerability mitigation and investigations.
  • Use forensic tools to perform examinations and extract evidence.
  • Analyze large data sets to identify findings and investigative leads.
  • Identify steganography and encryption techniques and analyze methods.
  • Document processes and findings in technical reports and case files.
  • Support discussions and provide input on methodologies and recommendations.
  • Prepare products and findings using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Support DNA lab personnel and procedures as required.

The Opportunity

CACI is seeking a cleared Digital Forensic Examiner.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct forensic examinations involving the collection, processing, analysis, interpretation, and preservation of digital evidence.
  • Examine digital devices and media in support of network vulnerability mitigation, intelligence operations, and investigative requirements.
  • Utilize forensic tools such as Cellebrite, EnCase, Axiom, XRY, FTK, and X-Ways to perform examinations and extract relevant evidence.
  • Analyze complex and large data sets to identify relevant findings, artifacts, and investigative leads.
  • Identify and assess steganography and encryption techniques, including detection and analysis methods.
  • Document forensic processes, findings, and conclusions in technical reports and case documentation.
  • Support technical discussions and provide input on forensic findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
  • Use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook to prepare products, communicate findings, and support mission execution.
  • Support the management and leadership of DNA lab personnel and procedures, as required.
Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 3 years of experience OR associate degreeand 5 years of experience OR High School diploma and 6 years of experience.
  • Physical ability and commitment to global deployment for 6-month rotations.
  • Expertise in electronic schematic design and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in identifying electronic components and characterizing circuits.
  • Mastery of laboratory benchtop equipment (Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of RF communications and standard RF measurements.
Desired
  • BSE in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with IED and/or UXS techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTP)
  • Experience collaborating with military organizations, such as EOD units
  • Background in CELLEX, DOMEX, and MEDEX forensics Hands-on experience with IED/UAS electronics
  • Understanding of programming languages

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100-$172,400
