Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; preference for a degree in a closely related scientific field.
• Five years of forensic laboratory experience; preference for experience and certification in the relevant laboratory section.

Responsibilities

• Supervise section personnel and monitor progress of each member.
• Evaluate staff skills and ensure training needs are met.
• Assign casework efficiently and coordinate section activities.
• Ensure procedures comply with policies, accreditation, and legal mandates.
• Maintain safety standards and ensure proper safety equipment.
• Review section casework to improve operations.
• Manage section resources and ensure adequate support.
• Research and recommend new methodologies and technologies.
• Publish and maintain section operation manuals.
• Monitor compliance with procedures and training programs.
• Stay current in technical qualifications and certifications.
