Job summary

The City of New York seeks a Community Associate to support the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn with digital evidence analysis and reporting.

You will review video surveillance, cell phone records, and open-source data; prepare visual aids for grand jury and trial; and provide daily analytic updates to senior staff and attorneys. A bachelor’s degree is required, with strong communication and data skills.

Qualifications

  • Adaptable and comfortable working with large amounts of data.
  • Experience working in law enforcement.
  • Knowledge of LexisNexis Accurint, i2 Analyst's Notebook, Google Earth, and Cellebrite is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain analytical processes for court testimony.
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze digital evidence for investigations and cases.
  • Create video compilations, maps, and visual aids for court.
  • Testify before grand jury or trial on analytic work products.
  • Provide daily crime activity reports to executives and ADAs.
  • Assist in training ADAs and analysts on protocols.
  • Assist in short and long-term complex investigations.
  • Attend trainings for court testimony and professional development.
  • Perform related intelligence gathering functions as needed.
