Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks a Digital Enterprise Change Management Engineer to support multiple programs by improving Change development and delivery processes. The role focuses on enhancing downstream change information handling for internal teams and NAVSEA interfaces.

Digital Enterprise Change Management Engineer

Overview

The Digital Enterprise (DE) Change Management Engineer will provide support to existing Programs with a focus on enhancing existing processes. This includes both managing and working on initiatives to further develop and enhance Electric Boats capability to deliver change information internally to all downstream consumers as well as externally to SUPSHIP and NAVSEA.

The Change Management Engineer would support:

• Assist working on initiatives brought from across the business to enhance the Change development and delivery process.
• Drive efficiency into the Design Disclosure and Change value stream by developing and tracking tool updates/testing, processes/procedures and training.
• Assisting with identifying areas of improvement by evaluating Metrics for Change Task progress and ITCR development.
• Drive efficiency into Design Disclosure and Change value stream based on assessments of procedure comments, production support tickets, continuous process improvement database, and requested process changes from various areas of the business.
• Communicate and provide training when applicable to updated processes and software changes.
• Supporting & coordinating business case development for new Change Digital Enterprise tasking improvements.
• Provide recommendations and insight to future program Change development and processes based on lessons learned from previous Programs and implemented improvements.
• Investigate and test upcoming software and/or process changes related to upgrading software systems. Including providing recommendations based on investigations to various areas of the business.

Qualifications

Required:

• A Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Software, Industrial, Systems, Chemical, Process Improvement or Computer Engineering
• 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience

• Experience in Teamcenter and/or NX applications
• Requirements development experience

To be successful in this position the applicant should have:

• High level working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter and NX
• Facilitation Skills: To lead brainstorming sessions, team meetings, and cross discipline discussions on different Change Management initiatives
• Project Management Skills: Managing to established dates and schedules, as well as estimating and scheduling new task development
• Ability to develop effective relationships
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Basic understanding of Change Management Digital Enterprise (DE) processes & tools
• Knowledge of the Change Management development process from concept through delivery
• Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics
• Knowledge of the Lean improvement tools such as SIPOC and process mapping
• Background with implementing improvements into software systems and procedures
