Los Alamos National Laboratory is looking for a Digital Engineering Technologist to enhance factory processes and data usage. This position entails document management, engineering software usage, and collaboration with teams for continuous improvement.
Ideal candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field, along with strong skills in documentation and communication. A Q clearance is required due to the nature of the role.
The Product Realization and Reliability Office (PRRO) in Nuclear Production Operations seeks a digital engineering technologist to standardize process and data usage to drive factory floor improvements, engineer solutions for leveraging data, and link information with other systems (PLM/MRP/MES/RMS etc.). The role consists primarily of office work with occasional shop floor interactions and will support various digital engineering initiatives, providing broad understanding of the domain. Training will be provided. The position may be filled at either the Engineering Technologist 1 or 2 level depending on candidate qualifications.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Science, Math, or related field and 2 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. For the higher level, 5 years of directly related experience is required.
The work location is onsite in Los Alamos, NM, at the discretion of management.
Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position to be eligible to apply for posted jobs. The position commitment for this role is 1 year.

Q clearance required. Position will be cleared to this level. Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. The position requires a Q clearance and obtaining such clearance requires U.S. citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances.
Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new‑employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre‑offer.
Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. This requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
