Job summary

Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is seeking a Litigation Support Specialist to manage digital discovery for criminal cases, ensuring completeness and compliant sharing of materials. The role emphasizes proficiency with MS Excel and CCAP, and requires the ability to prepare and redact records and create digital exhibits for court use.

The position may allow remote work up to 20% depending on workload and supervisor approval, with residency within the United States required.

Qualifications

• Must be a current resident of the United States.
• Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies or a Paralegal Certificate and 3 years of experience in a legal environment.
• Any Bachelor Degree and 3 years’ experience in a legal environment.
• Current Notary or eligible to obtain Notary during employment.

Responsibilities

• Review digital Discovery (e.g., reports, recordings, video) for completeness.
• Order reports and/or files missing from Discovery materials and confirm receipt of missing reports or files once requested.
• Update PROTECT case management system to document discovery process.
• Review requests for specific discovery issues in criminal cases in anticipation of trial.
• Respond to requests by identifying and requesting materials from law enforcement agencies, then distribute digital discovery via electronic sharing methods or physical copies.
• Perform trial-support tasks such as ordering certified copies of records, redacting records, and creating digital exhibits for trials.
