Job description

The Office of Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations National Security and Department of State Subcommittee (formerly SFOPS), is seeking an experienced Digital Director/Press Secretary with exceptional writing skills and digital expertise to join her team.This is a full-time, in-person position based in Washington, D.C. or Delray Beach, FL.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting digital content across the Congresswoman’s social media platforms and website;
  • Taking and editing photos and videos of the Congresswoman;
  • Advising spending on paid digital media, including social media ads and boosted posts and managing external vendors.
  • Executing regular press conferences in close coordination with district and legislative staff, including pitching topics, identifying guests, coordinating memos, drafting media advisories and remarks, and conducting direct personal outreach to media outlets.
  • Drafting press releases and newsletters;
  • Fielding press inquiries;
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptionally strong writer, have high proficiency in digital media, be able to build and maintain relationships with reporters, be able to adapt to the Congresswoman’s voice and needs, be willing and able to effectively incorporate AI tools into their writing, and be a team player who is eager to collaborate with colleagues. Florida ties are a bonus. This isnotan entry level position. Professional, full-time experience is required.

The starting annual salary range is $70,000 - $85,000. Exact title and salary commensurate with experience. Salary includes a generous benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid vacation days and sick time, student loan repayment, and transit benefits.
