The House Energy and Commerce Committee Democratic Staff seeks a digital director to join our fast-paced communications team in Washington, DC. The role focuses on developing proactive digital strategies and producing engaging content for social channels.

You will oversee video and graphic production, monitor social media, analyze data for insights, and coordinate closely with policy and communications staff and the broader Democratic caucus to maximize online opportunities while maintaining

Qualifications

  • At least three years of professional social media and digital experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while juggling multiple tasks and sound political judgment.
  • Prior Hill or campaign digital communications experience is preferred.

Job description

The Energy and Commerce Committee Democratic Staff seeks a motivated and hardworking digital director to join our fast-paced communications team.

Responsibilities include:

  • developing and implementing a proactive digital strategy;
  • creating engaging content for the Committee’s and Ranking Member’s social media channels;
  • producing and editing videos, graphics, and photos;
  • monitoring social media and finding creative ways to connect the Committee’s jurisdiction to almost any conversation and to a variety of audiences;
  • analyzing data to generate actionable insights and expand our audience;
  • collaborating closely with Committee policy and communications staff on the development of communications and messaging materials;
  • coordinating with the communications staff of Committee members and the larger Democratic caucus on social media and other online opportunities;
  • overseeing the Committee’s visual and brand standards; and
  • managing and updating the Committee’s website.

Qualified candidates must have at least three years of professional social media and digital experience, excellent written and oral communication skills, a proven ability to perform under pressure while juggling multiple tasks, and sound political judgment. Prior Hill or campaign digital communications experience is preferred.
