Job summary

The Washington Post invites college juniors, seniors and graduate students to apply for its flagship newsroom summer internship program. Interns will report and write, edit copy, photograph, shoot and edit video, create graphics, produce audio, and design across platforms while learning from prize-winning journalists.

Staff-like treatment during the internship is provided. Applicants must be enrolled by the deadline and showcase strong writing, editing, and audience-logic skills.

Responsibilities

• Interns report and write articles, edit copy, take photographs, shoot and edit video, create graphics, produce audio, design on multiple platforms, and develop audience strategy.
• Edit stories across news, features and enterprise with a commitment to accuracy, clarity, fairness and accessibility.
• Write and refine headlines, summaries and photo captions tailored for digital audiences.
• Help program The Post’s homepage and app, delivering a compelling reader experience across devices.
