About Your Role:

If you consider yourself a creative generalist, digital swiss-army-knife, etc., then this role is for you! SocialQ is looking for an experienced multimedia designer with graphic and motion design experience in digital e-commerce and social media. If you're excited about grabbing people’s attention through visually and dynamically compelling content across site, email, and social platforms, this role is for you. You have the ability to develop a design strategy using typography, illustration, iconography, layout, photography, animation, and art direction to create branded experiences that engage and motivate customers. You love discussing brand positioning, visual identity, and how design comes to life across both static and motion-based formats. You can imagine executing a shoot, storyboarding content output, and crafting animations that make the content even more engaging.

Your top-tier aesthetic, impeccable design, and motion capabilities will help translate varied brand experiences and product offerings across multiple industries. You'll work across formats like organic social posts, stories, animated banner ads, websites, landing pages, paid ads, emails, decks, and more. You'll collaborate with content, delivery, media, and strategy team members to deliver the best possible creative experience.

This position is freelance-to-permanent, starting as remote with a potential future hybrid in-office schedule. Candidates based in New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA are preferred. Responsibilities:

• Create original designs, animations or video edits that reinforce a brand’s style and voice through its visual touch points.
• Develop well-conceived creative work that aligns with the client's business strategy.
• Create polished, exceptional experiences for landing pages, websites, and e-commerce platforms.
• Design a variety of content pieces, both static and motion-based, including infographics, organic social posts and stories, e-mails, paid ads, website mockups, animated banners, and short-form video content.
• Apply an expert grasp of best practices, accessibility, and design heuristics, and articulate design and motion decisions clearly.
• Craft and develop designs, layouts, graphics, animations, and component designs for digital materials.
• Interpret creative briefs to translate strategies into visual and motion-based creative execution options.
• Synthesize and incorporate feedback from internal team members and clients, adjusting designs or animations as needed.
• Collaborate and brainstorm, leaving behind good ideas in pursuit of great ones.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, peers, competitors, and bring forth new techniques, designs, and motion innovations to inform the team.
• Organize and maintain a scalable design library using Figma, Box, and other tools.

What You Bring To The Table:

• 3+ years of experience as a visual designer, motion designer, art director, or similar creative role.
• A degree in graphic design, animation, film production, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• An accessible online portfolio showcasing both static and motion-based visual design work.
• Experience developing brand standards, style guidelines, and motion language.
• Knowledge of e-commerce and digital marketing best practices, with experience designing and producing both static and motion content for web, social, and paid ads.
• Proven ability across the fields of graphic design, typography, iconography, photo, illustration, and animation.
• Strong or intermediate motion design skills, with experience in creating animations for digital platforms, social media, and web.
• Knowledge of UI Design for web and best practices.
• Knowledge of digital content production, including post-production video editing and motion graphics.
• Fluency with contemporary social media platforms, technologies, and trends, including video and motion-based content formats.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and motion/video software such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, CapCut or others.
