Job summary

The State Courts System in Florida is seeking a Digital Court Reporter to join a team that ensures accurate digital recordings of court proceedings. In this role, you will record due process proceedings, annotate transcripts as they occur, and provide copies of recordings to attorneys, governmental personnel and the public.

A flexible schedule and occasional travel between circuit courthouses may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with one year of college or vocational education and two years of customer service experience.
• Relevant experience and/or education may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.
• Two years of experience in an office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors audio quality and annotates digitally recorded court proceedings while proceedings occur.
• Processes transcript orders and provides copies to attorneys, governmental personnel and the public.
• Performs tests of digital court recording equipment to ensure systems work before proceedings.
• Provides services involving digital court recording equipment on request.
• Keeps accurate records of annotated proceedings and dockets, including research of files for case law.
• Attends staff and other professional meetings.
