Job description

WXOW-TV/WQOW-TV in the beautiful La Crosse-Eau Claire market is seeking a full-time Digital Content Manager to take our digital efforts to the next level.

This in-house position is based at WXOW, which primarily serves viewers in La Crosse and surrounding areas. This is a vital newsroom leadership and management role for a decisive journalist who will lead the digital content initiatives, websites, and app appearances for WXOW in La Crosse and WQOW in Eau Claire.

As a core newsroom leader, you will make basic, daily content decisions and serve as the trusted, go-to mentor for younger journalists, answering questions and guiding their multi-platform storytelling skills.

In this role, you will curate content for the station homepages and apps, and aggressively cover breaking news through push alerts, livestreams, social posts, and web articles. You will also assist reporters and anchors in creating native social content, collaborating with other newsroom management to establish daily digital workflows, and partner with Marketing and Sales teams to execute effective digital campaigns.

The ideal candidate thinks digital first, possesses strong independent editorial judgment, and communicates effectively to inspire early-career talent. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, and a preferred minimum of two years of journalism or digital content experience. You must have strong AP Style writing skills and the ability to analyze digital metrics.
