Job summary

City of University Park is seeking a Communications & Marketing Specialist to manage social media accounts, create videos and photography, and develop marketing materials for city programs.

The role supports the Community Information Officer, answers inquiries, and assists with residents’ service requests while maintaining branding across channels. Evening/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field required.
• Two years of municipal marketing, advertising, or journalism experience required.
• Work-related experience above minimum qualifications may substitute for education/experience.
• Texas Class C driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develops, coordinates, and monitors City messaging via social media and the City website; provides customer service through social media.
• Creates social media campaigns to increase community engagement and monitors followers.
• Coordinates online presence and implements social media advertising; tracks trends and prepares insights reports.
• Attends events to capture photography and videography; creates engaging content highlighting programs and initiatives.
• Develops marketing materials for external media and assists departments in various promotional projects.
• Produces scripts and videos for social media and YouTube; supports annual city reports and communications campaigns.
• Maintains branding guidelines and assists with internal communication curricula and training.
• Writes, proofs, and edits city publications including press releases and website articles.
