Job summary

KaarTech is seeking an experienced Digital Commerce Practice Head / Principal Digital Commerce Architect to lead and grow our Digital Commerce practice from Chicago. This strategic role blends deep technical leadership, business consulting, solution architecture, and practice development to drive transformations for enterprise clients.

You will engage with C-level stakeholders, shape the practice roadmap, and develop accelerators and reference architectures while guiding teams across presales

Qualifications

• 18+ years of overall IT consulting experience
• 8+ years of Digital Commerce experience
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale Digital Commerce transformation programs
• Strong customer-facing consulting and solution architecture experience
• Demonstrated experience in practice leadership, presales, and business growth

Responsibilities

• Act as the final architecture authority for Digital Commerce solutions.
• Review and approve solution architectures for complex engagements.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, high-performing, and aligned with business objectives.
• Guide architects and technical teams on enterprise architecture and best practices.
• Resolve complex functional and technical challenges across presales and delivery.
• Engage with C-level and executive stakeholders to understand business objectives.
• Lead discovery workshops, solution envisioning, and transformation discussions.
• Advise clients on omnichannel commerce, customer experience, digital transformation, and commerce modernization.
• Serve as a trusted strategic advisor throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Define and execute the Digital Commerce practice strategy and roadmap.
• Build organizational capabilities and competency development programs.
• Develop reusable frameworks, accelerators, reference architectures, and methodologies.
• Drive continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
• Identify capability gaps and drive strategic hiring initiatives.
• Define competency frameworks and career development paths.
• Mentor architects and technical teams.
• Drive certifications, knowledge-sharing programs, and communities of practice.
• Identify emerging Digital Commerce technologies and industry trends.
• Drive initiatives around AI, GenAI, personalization, composable commerce, headless commerce, marketplaces, and DXP.
• Develop accelerators, reference implementations, and proof-of-concepts.
• Create differentiated industry-specific Digital Commerce offerings.
• Partner with Sales, Account Management, and Consulting teams on strategic opportunities.
• Lead solution strategy for large transformation programs.
• Participate in executive presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and proposal reviews.
• Contribute to RFP/RFI responses, solution estimation, sizing, and commercial discussions.
• Support GTM initiatives, partnerships, analyst engagements, and industry events.
• Provide architectural leadership throughout project execution.
• Conduct architecture reviews at key delivery milestones.
• Support teams in resolving complex implementation and production challenges.
