Job summary

Embry-Riddle’s Hunt Library seeks a Digital Collections Specialist to manage digitization projects, organize assets, and develop metadata for enhanced access. The role emphasizes technical proficiency, collaboration with library staff, and commitment to digital preservation.

Based in Daytona Beach, FL, the successful candidate will contribute to digitization workflows, QA processes, and long-term access strategies across the university’s archives and special collections.

Qualifications

• Experience in a library, archives, museum, historical organization, or cultural heritage environment.
• Ability to manage large quantities of information, digital files, and descriptive data with accuracy.
• Familiarity with standards like Dublin Core, MARC, XML or similar schemas.
• Experience with digital preservation concepts and tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for digitization and manage digital assets.
• Create and review metadata; ensure quality control of digitization workflows.
• Collaborate on digital collections projects and contribute to preservation planning.
• Support research access and public discovery of digital collections.
