Job summary

HarperCollins Publishers in New York is seeking a Sales Representative for the Online Sales team. You will present frontlist/backlist titles to digital accounts, analyze sales trends, and drive category growth while coordinating with Editorial, Marketing, and Publicity teams.

The role includes supporting major accounts like OverDrive, Audible, and Spotify, with reporting and merchandising opportunities to maximize exposure and sales.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of publishing sales experience.
• Knowledge of the online sales channel, evolving ecommerce trends, and the book market; digital audio experience is a plus.
• Experience working with digital marketing and metadata preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to use sales data to identify opportunities.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentations.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively across the organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, esp. Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and presents frontlist and backlist titles to digital accounts (OverDrive, hoopla, Google, Apple editorial teams).
• Analyzes category and title performance to identify growth opportunities and forecasts digital acquisitions.
• Collaborates with digital accounts and internal teams to promote title performance and exposure.
• Supports large digital audio accounts (Audible, Spotify) with reporting and account needs.
• Identifies promotional and merchandising opportunities with Editorial, Marketing, Publicity, and Sales.
• Attends meetings and shares insights to grow the business.
• Responds to internal stakeholder requests regarding account-related digital audio and ebooks.
• Creates resources supporting digital audio education and best practices.
