Job summary

This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Digital Asset Management and Communications Undergraduate Student Assistant for Oregon Sea Grant at Oregon State University (OSU). Student will assist with reorganization of Oregon Sea Grant Flickr account and other communications-related projects as needed.

Position Duties

• Audit and organize Oregon Sea Grant’s digital photo archive by helping to review existing Flickr albums, identifying gaps and redundancies, and helping to develop a clear, intuitive organizational structure.
• Identify, document, and apply missing or incomplete information about photographs, including photographer, date, location, subjects, keywords and usage rights.
• Maintain a consistent tagging and naming system using controlled vocabulary and established guidelines so images can be easily found and reused across communications channels.
• Review image rights, attribution and privacy settings and identify images that should be public, private or flagged for staff review based on usage permissions and available documentation.
• Other related communications duties as requested by supervisor.
