The role leads born digital archives, develops workflows, and collaborates with Archives & Special Collections, Digital Stewardship, Systems, and metadata librarians to advance digital stewardship and access.

We seek candidates new to the field who are ready to learn and grow with strong mentoring support.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library and/or information science from an ALA-accredited program or terminal degree with relevant experience.
• Knowledge of archival theory, metadata, and digital preservation standards.
• Experience with tools/systems for acquiring, preserving, and providing access to born digital materials.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse constituents and support diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Aptitude for publication and professional service to meet tenure expectations.

Responsibilities

• Appraise, accession, capture, process, preserve, migrate, and provide access to born digital records.
• Establish workflows for born digital records across formats and life cycles.
• Identify tools and standards for digital archiving and preservation; develop expertise.
• Preserve, redact, and provide access to born digital materials with sensitive information.
• Lead web archiving initiatives using appropriate tools such as Archive-It.
• Participate in donor stewardship for born digital materials.
• Integrate born digital records into workflows for access, outreach, and instruction.
• Engage in anti-racist work to promote inclusive excellence.
• Contribute to professional knowledge via research, publications, and engagement for tenure.
• Participate in library, university, and professional service activities.
