Job summary

The Library of Virginia seeks a Born-Digital Collections Coordinator to lead agency-wide planning and technical management of its born-digital government and manuscript records.

As part of the Digital Initiatives & Web Services division, the ideal candidate will bring a collaborative and intellectually curious spirit to the development of the proper policies, procedures, technologies, and documentation that supports the sustainability and public access to these records.

Qualifications

• Experience with repeatable technical workflows and digital file management at scale.
• Knowledge of archival standards and public access needs.
• Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Formal training in archives administration or information technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and improve workflows to accession, process, and describe electronic records.
• Test and help select tools for scalability and reliability.
• Move content toward public availability and access.
• Support collection management and long‑term preservation planning.
