Job summary

University of Georgia Libraries—Brown Media seeks an Audiovisual and Oral History Technician to support preservation, access, and description of audiovisual materials with emphasis on oral history. Responsibilities include coordinating workflows, digitization, post-production, and online access to assets.

The role requires adapting to a production-focused environment, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating across teams to uphold best practices in digital preservation.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification is a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with audiovisual digitization and preservation is preferred.
• Familiarity with the Oral History process and transcript workflows.

Responsibilities

• Support preservation and access of Oral History collections.
• Manage physical, digital, and intellectual control of materials.
• Perform post-production editing and video captioning workflows.
• Create finding aids and inventories using appropriate tools.
• Curate collections for online access and maintain public interfaces.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure data integrity and timely processing.
