Job summary

Heritage Werks is seeking an Archivist for its Archival Services team in the Duluth/Suwanee, Georgia area. The role focuses on organizing, preserving, and providing access to historical collections, with hands-on work handling physical and digital materials.

You will conduct assessments, describe collections, and apply metadata standards while collaborating with clients and colleagues across projects and deadlines, ensuring high‑quality archival outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science or related field.
• 2–3+ years of archival processing experience.
• Experience creating finding aids and inventories.
• Knowledge of metadata, preservation, and cataloging standards.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and onsite work in Duluth/Suwanee, GA.

Responsibilities

• Conduct collection assessments and surveys.
• Process, arrange, and describe physical and digital archival collections.
• Create finding aids and inventories with metadata.
• Support digitization projects and preservation workflows.
• Perform research and translate findings into briefs.
