Job summary

Caterpillar is offering a Digital and Analytics internship in Illinois for students currently enrolled in a Caterpillar program. The 12-week, 40-hour-per-week role focuses on building customer-centric digital experiences, contributing to product development, and advancing analytics across multiple digital platforms.

You will work with teams across IoT, data management, and cybersecurity, applying techniques in data analytics, visualization, and AI to real-world enterprise projects.

Qualifications

• Must be currently participating in a Caterpillar student program.
• Must be enrolled full time at a 4-year University/College in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, Data Visualization, Marketing Analytics, Math, Stats, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering or related degree at the time of application and throughout the program.
• Must have completed 12 credit hours prior to the start of the program.
• Minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA, no rounding
• Must be able to relocate to internship location for the duration of the internship and complete daily commute using reliable transportation
• Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 40-hour-per-week, 12-week Digital and Analytics internship
• Design and rapidly develop consistent, customer-centric digital experiences
• Contribute to product development, mobile and service applications, eCommerce, and digital marketing
• Help simplify enterprise digital infrastructure and accelerate application development
• Improve data availability, quality, and security across digital platforms
• Work with digital data and artificial intelligence, telematics gateway and datahub, DevOps, and Cybersecurity teams
• Apply analytics techniques to diverse IoT-connected asset data
• Contribute to anomaly detection, business analytics, data visualization, and business marketing analytics projects
• Support analytics project teams solving medium- to high-complexity problems
• Help drive deployment and support of Caterpillar digital products
• Contribute to maturing data management processes
• Build technical abilities through networking, mentorship, business skill building, and career discussions
