Job summary

REI Co-op is seeking a quantitative analyst to enable better data-driven decision making for Digital product teams. You will plan and analyze A/B tests, shape analytic data specifications, and ensure data quality.

The role emphasizes storytelling with data and actionable insights through dashboards. Required skills include SQL, analytics tools, and visualization platforms; experience with cloud data platforms like Snowflake/Databricks is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree with 2-3 years of related experience, OR an advanced degree in quantitative field, business, psychology, or marketing-related major with 1 year of experience
  • Ability to effectively create data driven stories for stakeholders with a bias for understanding and action
  • Experience with web-based analytics tools (Adobe Analytics preferred)
  • Familiar with statistical analysis principles including Bayesian statistics and applying them to analysis design with supervision
  • Experience with visualization programs like Sigma or Tableau, including preparing data and writing calculations
  • Proficiency with data models and schemas
  • Experience with cloud-based data and AI platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)
  • Familiarity with data transformation frameworks (dbt, SQLMesh, Alteryx)
  • Familiarity or experience with AI-powered agentic coding assistants
  • Experience building visually effective interactive dashboards that lead to insights and actionable recommendations
  • Ability to shape story around data with clear problem statements, hypotheses, evidence, results and recommendations
  • Clear communication across various methods and situations

Responsibilities

  • Execute projects, reports, and insights to primary stakeholders under the guidance of a senior or principal analyst
  • Plan and analyze A/B and multivariate test activities (planning, design, execution, analysis)
  • Apply principles underlying statistical analysis (e.g. variance, population differences, effect size, significance)
  • Write and edit queries (SQL preferred) to retrieve data from relational databases
  • Produce compelling data visualizations
  • Support the Digital Product team with budget and forecast processes and performance metrics
  • Utilize advanced modeling tools (e.g. R, Python, SAS, SPSS)
  • Communicate a summary of customer performance to stakeholders
  • Create visually effective interactive dashboards that lead to insights and actionable recommendations

This role contributes to REI's success by enabling better data-driven decision making, acting as an authoritative source for A/B testing, forecasting, advanced analytics, planning, data visualization, and statistical design. Specifically, this role will support Digital product teams through planning and analysis of A/B tests, as well as analytic data specifications and analytic data quality control.

  • Create visually effective interactive dashboards that lead to insights and actionable recommendations

  • Consistently demonstrates ability to shape story around data where there is a clear problem statement, hypothesis, evidence of the hypothesis, results, and clear recommendations
  • Ability to clearly convey and accurately receive information from a variety of methods and in various situations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with SQL, R, or other programming languages for querying relational databases
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate test activities (planning, design, execution, analysis) and A/B testing platforms (e.g. Adobe Target, Optimizely, VWO, GrowthBook)
  • Experience with statistical analysis and/or advanced modeling tools (e.g. SAS, SPSS, R, Python)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Sigma, Tableau, PowerBI)
