Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Diffusion Equipment Engineer to support diffusion processes and wafer fabrication. You will monitor equipment, qualify new machines, and use data tools to identify trends and optimize processing parameters.

You will drive process improvements, cost reductions, and SOP updates in a fast-paced 24x7 environment. The role requires a BS/MS in engineering or sciences, scripting skills (Python/VBA), knowledge of SPC/Lean/5S, and experience with data analysis

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science (3.0 GPA for new grads)
• Scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language
• Understanding of statistical methods
• Understanding of Change Point Management, and of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles
• Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc..)
• Software Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.)
• Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures
• Ability to wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to lift

Responsibilities

• Monitoring the wafer fabrication equipment and respond to issues
• Qualifying new manufacturing equipment
• Coordinating the scheduling of equipment qualifications and equipment down time with manufacturing
• Using software to analyze data, identify trends to make decisions about processing product
• Making adjustments when equipment parameters are exceeded and monitors process parameters when tools return from maintenance
• Executing in line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment
• Communicating technical information within the department through presentations
• Continuously revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Developing improved processes to increase capability
• Monitoring operations costs and develop cost reduction projects
