Job summary

The Summit Center in Western New York seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to lead a collaborative classroom and provide tailored instruction for students with developmental challenges.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, manage case progress, and implement effective instructional strategies within a supportive setting. Eligible candidates may have NYS Special Education certification or be pursuing it.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Special Education required.
• Masters in Special Education preferred.
• Must hold or be actively pursuing NYS Special Education Permanent certificate or Students with Disabilities certificate.

Responsibilities

• Lead a collaborative classroom team and manage the classroom environment.
• Provide tailored instruction to meet each student’s unique needs.
• Coordinate with professionals from various disciplines to support students.
• Serve as the case manager for progress and support of assigned students.
• Establish and monitor individual data collection and charting systems.
• Collaborate with families and external service providers.
