As our dedicated Registered Dietitian, you'll play a vital role in enhancing the health and quality of life for our residents. You'll be the expert who assesses their unique nutritional needs and collaborates with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans. Your insights will directly influence their comfort, recovery, and overall well-being.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Conduct regular nutritional assessments, tailoring visit frequency to the complexity of resident needs.
• Evaluate residents' nutritional status through comprehensive assessments, including lab interpretation, consumption analysis, weight management, and identification of potential food/drug interactions.
• Develop and implement individualized nutritional care plans, setting realistic goals and interventions.
• Document detailed nutritional assessments and recommended interventions in the MDS and resident charts, ensuring seamless communication with the Food Service Director, Nursing Services, and Administration.
• Review menu changes and provide rationale to ensure nutritional adequacy and resident preferences.
• Maintain open and effective communication with the facility Administrator, Food Service Director, and Nursing Services Management.
• Prepare and submit timely monthly written reports to the Administrator.
• Review resident care plans prior to care conferences, offering valuable nutritional insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary nutrition support team, including the Food Service Director, Nursing Services, Pharmacy Consultant, Speech Therapist, and Occupational Therapist, to address resident needs comprehensively.
• Provide clear and concise dietary instruction and education to residents and their families.
• Contribute your expertise to various facility initiatives, including menu revisions, meal service assessments, policy and procedure reviews, sanitation assessments, and staff in-service training.
• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures related to assessing and documenting client changes.
• Prioritize the safety and well-being of all residents, actively participating in fire safety and emergency preparedness protocols.
• Ensure residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that respects individual needs and rights.
• Embrace other related duties as needed to support the smooth operation of the facility.
  
  
  

Qualifications We're Looking For:

• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential is essential.
• Proven experience in a long-term care or consulting dietitian role is highly valued.
• A genuine passion for working with the geriatric population is a plus!
• Proficiency in basic computer skills.
