Work Schedule
Two days per week (16–20 hours)
Dietitian Responsibilities
- Consult with and instruct clients with complex nutritional deficiencies, determine extent and duration of diet therapy, and instruct clients and families in appropriate diet upon discharge.
- Review and interpret physician‑prescribed diets, calculate special diets, write nutritional care plans, and evaluate and document clients’ response to diet therapy.
- Interview clients with complex nutritional deficiencies, determine suitability for treatment, and prepare written evaluations of clients’ nutritional state.
- Confere with physicians and nursing personnel to clarify orders, recommend appropriate diet treatments and exchange client information.
- Attend and contribute to client care meetings and conferences with physicians, nurses, and other personnel to promote and ensure proper dietary care.
- Make recommendations regarding development of master general menu and departmental policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or a closely related field.
- Current Dietetic Nutritionist Licensure (LDN) active in the state of Illinois.
- General knowledge of clients’ physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning and the ability to tailor interventions and communicate appropriately based on individual maturation level.
- Analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing analyses, and summarize data to solve problems or design complex systems and programs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to communicate orally.
- Ability to proofread and check documents for accuracy.
Compensation (based on experience and credentials)
- Range begins at $24.74–$39.58 per hour.
- Gateway conducts annual reviews including merit increases.
