Job summary

West Michigan Cancer Center Inc. is seeking a Dietitian to conduct nutrition assessments and implement nutrition plans for oncology patients.

You will review screening forms, develop nutrition programming, and participate in multidisciplinary clinics and tumor conferences with a commitment to WMCC core values. The role requires a Registered Dietitian (AND), a minimum of two years’ direct patient care experience, and willingness to specialize in cancer nutrition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science with emphasis in health behavior or human clinical nutrition.
• Minimum two years’ direct patient care experience as a clinical nutrition provider.
• Registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND); CSO oncology certification preferred and to be obtained within three years.

Required Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science with emphasis in health behavior or human clinical nutrition.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

minimum two years’ experience in direct patient care setting as a provider of clinical nutrition care is required. Must be registered with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). Experience in cancer nutrition setting desired, willingness to become expert in cancer nutrition is required. CSO-Certified Specialty in oncology certification preferred and required within three years of hire. Must have or be able to obtain BLS certification. Excellent interpersonal skill to interact effectively with management, employees, peers and the public. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to use critical thinking to interpret, comprehend and complete complicated and detailed projects in a timely manner. Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently. High degree of integrity to keep confidential all information related to WMCC patients, employees, physicians, and institution related information. Ability to accept and apply feedback.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift general office supplies, nutritional supplies or equipment occasionally. Ability to complete a one and two person lift to assist patients. Requires sitting/standing for shift length. Manual dexterity required to use computer keyboard or other office equipment. Excellent visual and auditory acuity necessary.
