Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking a registered dietitian to deliver oncology-focused nutrition care within the Cancer Center. You will assess patients across age groups, formulate modified diets, and provide counseling, while contributing to program development and staff growth.

Qualifications include an RD in good standing, GA licensure, and CSO within 3 years. Oncology experience and strong communication are valued as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field required, unless registered prior to Jan 1, 2024.
• Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is required.
• Licensed Dietitian in Georgia is required.
• Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO) within three years of employment.
• Minimum two years of oncology nutrition experience preferred.
• Knowledge of oncology disease processes, cancer treatment modalities, nutrition support, survivorship, and Palliative care.
• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

JOB LOCATION : Cancer Center

DEPARTMENT: PCC - CANCER CENTER ADMINISTRATION

SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 0800-1630

POSITION SUMMARY

Contributes to the delivery of quality patient care by providing nutrition services (including assessment, modified diet formulation, and nutrition counseling/consultation) for all age groups cared for at SGMC Health and Hospice House. Assists in growth and development of staff and other allied health professionals; assists in management of cost effectiveness of department as evidenced through efficient use of materials and human resources. Maintains an atmosphere which insures SGMC Health’s values, goals, policies and procedures are consistently supported and enforced.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Clinical Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, or related field required, unless registered prior to January 1, 2024.
• Currently registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association), as a Registered Dietitian.
• Currently licensed by the State of Georgia as a Licensed Dietitian.
• Must obtain Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO) within three years of employment at PCCC.
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical oncology nutrition experience preferred.
• Knowledge of oncology disease processes, cancer treatment modalities, nutrition support, symptom management, survivorship, and palliative care.
• Skillful in verbal and non-verbal communication.
