Compensation Range: $73,000 - 85,000 per year. Compensation will be dependent upon education and experience. This position will work full time, Monday through Friday.

Job Description

Position: Registered Dietitian

The Registered Dietitian is responsible for overseeing the Dietary component in tandem with the Center For Discovery Clinical Model.

Responsibilities include:

• Meet with each patient weekly to implement and manage individualized dietary meal plans, including conducting weekly calorie counts.
• Conduct Dietary Intake at admission.
• Complete documentation on each client’s progress, ensuring daily notes reflect treatment goals.
• Facilitate nutrition groups suitable for adult and adolescent patients.
• Support patients during meals and snacks to promote exposures, using skills and modeling.
• Implement dietary treatment plans within a week of admission.
• Communicate with referring and outpatient treatment teams throughout treatment.
• Oversee Diet-technicians to support mealtimes and monitor supplementation.
• Collaborate with the Director of Dietary Services and the treatment team to ensure high standards of nutrition and dietary services.
• Enforce dietary programs and advise clients on food choices.
• Understand medical consequences of eating disorders, re-feeding hazards, and how to avoid complications.
• Implement specific dietary exchange patterns based on portion size and caloric recommendations.
• Facilitate family sessions, family days, and educational activities, including therapeutic meals.
• Communicate with medical doctors and psychiatrists regarding medical issues requiring dietary intervention.
• Remain accessible to family members, including weekly communication with parents of adolescents.

Additional details:

• This is an in-person full-time position at our Tacoma Outpatient Program.
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, flexible hours between 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited US university with coursework approved by ACEND and an RD credential, required.
• Licensed registered dietitian, preferred. Dietetic Interns must be RD eligible and taking the exam soon.
• Two years’ experience in dietary education and management, preferred.
• Eating disorder experience, preferred.
• Ability to obtain a food handler's permit or Serve Safe Certification.
