Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to deliver evidence-based medical nutrition therapy across a diverse patient population. Responsibilities include documenting assessments in the electronic medical record, coordinating with food service teams, and supporting diet-related education

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field.
  • Completion of an accredited dietetic internship required.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) preferred; Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist preferred.
  • Heartsaver CPR AED certification preferred.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' nutritional status and develop individualized nutrition care plans.
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy, monitor progress, and adjust interventions.
  • Document nutrition assessments, care plans, and follow-up in the EMR.
  • Educate patients and families on diets, goals, and long-term wellness.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care team to ensure coordinated nutrition care.
  • Coordinate with food service teams to ensure appropriate meals and nutrition support.

Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you will assess patients' nutritional needs, develop individualized care plans, provide nutrition education, and help support positive clinical outcomes.Essential FunctionsAssess patients' nutritional status using clinical data, physician orders, interdisciplinary care plans, and evidence-based practice to develop individualized nutrition care plans.Provide medical nutrition therapy, monitor patient progress, and adjust nutrition interventions as appropriate throughout the course of care.Document nutrition assessments, recommendations, care plans, follow-up evaluations, discharge planning, and other nutrition-related activities in the electronic medical record.Educate patients and their families on therapeutic diets, nutrition goals, and strategies to support long-term health and wellness.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered nutrition care.Partner with food service teams to help ensure patients receive appropriate meals, supplements, and nutrition support while promoting adherence to prescribed diets.Develop and maintain educational resources to support patient and family nutrition education.Required for All PositionsPerform other duties as assigned.Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and standards.Patient Care: Yes (Direct/Indirect)QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field required.Experience in lieu of degree accepted?
