Job summary

Morrison Healthcare is seeking a Weekend Support Dietitian in Fredericksburg, VA to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy in an acute care setting, supporting the primary dietitian at Mary Washington and Stafford Hospital. The role may be onsite in Fredericksburg or remote, with two weekends per month totaling 8 hours each weekend.

Qualified candidates are RDNs or eligible for the CDR exam, with licensure in the state of practice.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or eligible for CDR exam.
• Licensed Dietitian in the state of practice as applicable.
• Healthcare experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and education in an acute care setting to support patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with care teams to implement nutrition plans and monitor progress.
• Educate patients, families, staff on nutrition strategies and diet education.
• Apply evidence-based practice aligned with department policies to ensure high-quality care.
• Support QAPI initiatives and service excellence through nutrition-related improvements.
• Mentor dietetic staff and interns where applicable.

Setting: 400+ bed acute care/trauma 2 hospital Schedule:2 shifts per month / 8 hours per shift / 2 weekends per month.This position may be onsite in Fredericksburg, VA or remote. The Clinical Support Dietitian will work two weekends per month, for a total of 8 hours each weekend. This role supports the primary dietitian at Mary Washington and Stafford Hospital. Weekend responsibilities include custom TPNs, tube feeding calculations, malnutrition assessments, and diet education Requirement: Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible Salary: $30.00/hr -$32.00/hr

Job Summary

Make a real impact as a Clinical Dietitian! You’ll provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and education in an acute care setting, working with a collaborative team to enhance patient outcomes through evidence-based nutrition care.

• Clinical Nutrition Care: Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop individualized care plans to promote recovery and improve health outcomes
• Education: Provide guidance on nutrition and lifestyle strategies to support sustainable, long-term wellness to patients, families, staff, and the community
• Evidence-Based Practice: Apply the latest research in alignment with the diet manual, company policies, and facility protocols to ensure high-quality, consistent care
• Quality & Performance Improvement: Contribute to QAPI initiatives aimed at advancing patient care and clinical excellence
• Collaboration & Service Excellence: Partner with the food service management team to help achieve patient satisfaction and service goals
• Mentorship & Professional Development: Support the growth of staff and dietetic interns through education and training as applicable

What We’re Looking For:

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or CDR exam eligible
• Licensed Dietitian (or willing to obtain) in the state of practice as applicable
• Healthcare experience preferred—new graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply
