Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, seeks a Weekend Support Dietitian in Fredericksburg, VA to support the Mary Washington Hospital team. You will perform medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education in collaboration with the primary dietitian and hospital staff.

This role offers weekend shifts, with onsite or remote options, and a pathway to develop clinical skills in acute care within a leading healthcare food and nutrition services provider.

Qualifications

• RDN eligibility or CDR exam eligibility.
• Licensed Dietitian in the state of practice or willing to obtain licensure.
• Healthcare experience preferred—new graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Nutrition Care: Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and education in an acute care setting.
• Education: Educate patients, families, staff on nutrition and lifestyle strategies.
• Evidence-Based Practice: Apply latest research aligned with diet manual and hospital protocols.
• Quality & Performance Improvement: Contribute to QAPI initiatives.
• Collaboration & Service Excellence: Work with food service and clinical teams to meet patient satisfaction goals.
• Mentorship & Professional Development: Support growth of staff and dietetic interns where applicable.

Education

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or CDR exam eligible

Location: Morrison Healthcare at Mary Washington Hospital

Setting: 400+ bed acute care/trauma 2 hospital

Schedule: 2 shifts per month / 8 hours per shift / 2 weekends per month. This position may be onsite in Fredericksburg, VA or remote. The Clinical Support Dietitian will work two weekends per month, for a total of 8 hours each weekend. This role supports the primary dietitian at Mary Washington and Stafford Hospital. Weekend responsibilities include custom TPNs, tube feeding calculations, malnutrition assessments, and diet education. Requirement: Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible. Salary: $30.00/hr -$32.00/hr

Job Summary

Make a real impact as a Clinical Dietitian! You’ll provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and education in an acute care setting, working with a collaborative team to enhance patient outcomes through evidence-based nutrition care.

• Clinical Nutrition Care: Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop individualized care plans to promote recovery and improve health outcomes
• Education: Provide guidance on nutrition and lifestyle strategies to support sustainable, long-term wellness to patients, families, staff, and the community
• Evidence-Based Practice: Apply the latest research in alignment with the diet manual, company policies, and facility protocols to ensure high-quality, consistent care
• Quality & Performance Improvement: Contribute to QAPI initiatives aimed at advancing patient care and clinical excellence
• Collaboration & Service Excellence: Partner with the food service management team to help achieve patient satisfaction and service goals
• Mentorship & Professional Development: Support the growth of staff and dietetic interns through education and training as applicable
