Job summary

Navigate Wellbeing Solutions is seeking a Dietitian Health Coach to support wellbeing and behavior-change coaching for participants. The role focuses on education, care coordination, and appropriate referrals to licensed professionals when needed, and does not diagnose or treat.

The ideal candidate will hold a Registered Dietitian credential, NBHWC board certification, 1–3 years of coaching experience, experience with virtual coaching tools, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Education and credentials listed above are required or strongly preferred.
  • Active RD credential and NBHWC certification are essential for practice.
  • 1–3 years of coaching/education experience is desired.
  • Mental Health First Aid certification or plan to obtain within 90 days is preferred.
  • Experience with EMRs, e-doc management, and virtual coaching tools is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide education via phone or video conferencing to review results and program expectations.
  • Engage participants to drive behavior change during coaching sessions.
  • Review and provide nutrition guidance based on individual needs.
  • Develop individualized care plans with participant and care team.
  • Monitor progress and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Support nutrition-focused education programs and materials.
  • Stay current with nutrition research and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to QA and program evaluation.

How you contribute to our success
The Dietitian Health Coach is responsible for wellness and behavior-change health coaching. In this role the Dietitian Health Coach supports wellbeing, care coordination, and appropriate referral to licensed professionals when needed to support participants in achieving health wellness and personal goals. The coach does not diagnose conditions or provide therapy or treatment.

Your Responsibilities to the team, our clients and community

  • Provide education to participants, via phone calls or video-conferencing, to review results and program expectations based on employer requirements.
  • Engage wellness program participants to create awareness and drive behavior change throughout ongoing coaching sessions resulting in reduced or prevented health risk factors.
  • Review and provide nutrition guidance to participants based on individual needs.
  • Assess participant educational needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with participant and other care team members.
  • Monitor and evaluate participant progress and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Support development, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition focused education programs and materials.
  • Stay current with the latest dietitian research, trends, and best practices to ensure the education program is based on the most recent evidence.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of participant interactions, education sessions, and progress.
  • Support reporting and documentation as required for quality assurance and program evaluation.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience with direct participant coaching, counseling or education
  • Basic Listening Sequence skills (Attending and Empathy, Observation, Questions, Encouraging/Paraphrasing/Summarizing, Reflecting Feelings)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to leverage the experience of other team members to quickly identify gaps, risks, or opportunities when faced with challenging situations.
  • Ability to utilize multiple technology platforms to deliver coaching services efficiently through virtual or telephonic platforms. '
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft applications, information security principles, and data reporting tools. '
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus

Experience & Education needed for success in this role

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences (or related field), psychology, or counseling
  • Active credentialing as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Board certified as a Health and Wellness Coach by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC)
  • 1-3 years of health coaching/health education experience
  • Mental Health First Aid Certified (or commitment to complete within 90 days of hire)
    • Mental Health First Aid Instructor is a plus
  • 8+ hours of Women’s Health specific continued education including completion of Healing Women’s Hearts: An Integrative Approach by The Integrative Women's Health Institute (5 CE hours) (or commitment to complete within 90 days of hire)

Physical & Working Environment

  • This position is open to remote work; however, travel to client sites may be required based on business needs. Employees must be able to work onsite at client locations to support client-facing activities or service delivery. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible, and reasonable accommodations for travel will be made. Travel expenses related to onsite work assignments will be reimbursed or paid for in accordance with the Navigate business expense policy.
  • Normal mental and visual attention is required. Normal office working conditions requiring continuous use of both hands. Sitting most of the time, may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • Position requires occasional bending, squatting, twisting and climbing stairs. There are minimal exposures to workplace hazards.
  • To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform the essential functions.
  • Efficiently navigate multiple technology platforms including, but not limited to, online scheduler/calendars, EMRs, e-fax, e-document management, virtual tele-health, Microsoft Teams, etc
  • Position is available for remote workers
  • Must be willing to work some early morning, some evening hours and occasional weekends.
