Job description

Responsibilities

• Provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluate effectiveness of treatments.
• Assess patients for nutritional status and provide interventions, including diet therapy, counseling, or specialized nutrition supplements; collaborate with physicians, nursing, and ancillary services such as speech therapy or physical therapy.
• Monitor tolerance and effectiveness of the nutritional regimen and recommend therapy adjustments as necessary.
• Provide nutrition information to the community, which may include public speaking, news releases, and other publication forms.
• Research and take initiative to resolve nutrition care related complaints and problems.
• Assist in monitoring meals, including intake, diet compliance, and tray accuracy, and maintain sanitation of food preparation areas through planned and unannounced inspections.

Certification / Licences Required

• Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required; Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Educator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred.

Education / Experience Required

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Bariatric experience preferred.
