Responsibilities
- Provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluate effectiveness of treatments.
- Assess patients for nutritional status and provide interventions, including diet therapy, counseling, or specialized nutrition supplements; collaborate with physicians, nursing, and ancillary services such as speech therapy or physical therapy.
- Monitor tolerance and effectiveness of the nutritional regimen and recommend therapy adjustments as necessary.
- Provide nutrition information to the community, which may include public speaking, news releases, and other publication forms.
- Research and take initiative to resolve nutrition care related complaints and problems.
- Assist in monitoring meals, including intake, diet compliance, and tray accuracy, and maintain sanitation of food preparation areas through planned and unannounced inspections.

Schedule: 16 hours weekly
Location: Madison Heights, MI

Certification / Licences Required
- Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required; Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Educator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred.
Education / Experience Required
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Bariatric experience preferred.
