Job summary

Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Michigan is seeking a Registered Dietitian for a 20-hour-per-week, day-shift position. The role delivers clinical nutrition care including assessment, diagnosis, care plan implementation, counseling, education, and outcome evaluation for patients and families within the Food Services department.

Qualified candidates hold a ACEND-accredited DPD with supervised practice and an active RD/RDN credential; advanced practice certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field with ACEND-accredited DPD and supervised practice program required IF RD/RDN credential was obtained prior to Jan 1, 2024 and is active.
• Master's Degree with Bachelor's in Dietetics or related field and ACEND-accredited DPD plus supervision program IF initial CDR registration is effective on/after Jan 1, 2024. Advanced Practice Certification preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; use medical terminology.
• Ability to follow oral/written instructions and perform arithmetic calculations.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with medical/nursing staff, patients, and families.

• Provides comprehensive nutritional care including assessment, Nutrition Diagnosis, implementation of a care plan, counseling, education, and evaluation of outcomes to patients, families, and associates.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field with completion of an ACEND-accredited DPD (Didactic Program in Dietetics) and supervised practice program (dietetic internship) required IF: Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential was obtained prior to January 1, 2024, AND Credential is active and issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Master's Degree required with Bachelor's in Dietetics or related field with completion of an ACEND-accredited DPD (Didactic Program in Dietetics) and supervised practice program (dietetic internship) IF: Initial registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is effective on or after January 1, 2024. Advanced Practice Certification preferred.
• Requires the ability to read, write and speak English; use and understand medical terminology.
• Follow oral and written instructions; perform arithmetic calculations.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Requires a relatively high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work with medical, nursing and other health care professionals, patients, and their families.
