Dietician Registered - Children's Specialized Hospital

Job Overview

As a member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for the nutritional care of assigned pediatric populations, with assistance from clinical orienters and supervision. Responsibilities include nutrition assessment, implementation of nutritional care plans, and nutrition education. You will also assist with operational functions of the Clinical Nutrition Department.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university
  • Registered dietitian (RD) or eligible (RDE) with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • If RDE, must become RD within six months of hire
  • Valid NJ driver's license in good standing
  • AHA BLS Provider Certification
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively

Preferred:

  • Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) curriculum completion
  • Medical Assistant certification
Essential Functions
  • Utilize understanding of diagnoses and medical history to provide nutritional care
  • Evaluate nutritional status, create, implement, monitor, and revise care plans, and provide nutrition education
  • Complete assessments thoroughly and timely
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
  • Participate in educational programs and develop educational materials
  • Coordinate care with various departments
  • Contribute to policy development and department activities
  • Mentor dietetic interns and guide dietetic technicians
