Qualifications

Quality Life Services is looking to add a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) to our team. As the DTR, you will provide dietary and nutritional services to long-term care residents to help them achieve their highest level of function.

About Quality Life Services

We are a family-owned and operated healthcare network in Western PA. Quality Life Services operates 10 skilled nursing facilities, as well as a Family Home Health and Hospice, Quality Medical Associates, Quality Pharmacy, and Quality Staffing. With over 40 years of industry-leading experience, we offer a wide range of services including skilled nursing, personal care, home health, hospice, and our own pharmacy. Responsibilities
  1. Develop or recommend a current diet manual to meet the needs of the residents.
  2. Assess and document the nutritional needs of each resident.
  3. Review and plan all regular and therapeutic diets and menus.
  4. Review residents’ dietary profiles, assessment plans, and plans of care.
  5. Assess and counsel residents regarding dietary allergies, preferences, appetites, food habits, and therapeutic menus.
  6. Evaluate and make recommendations on meal serving times, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  7. Evaluate and recommend food service equipment, nutritional adequacy, preparation methods, taste, appearance, serving temperature, and portion sizes.
  8. Assist Dietary Departments in recipe adjustments, ordering food and supplies, and communicating with residents and families.
  9. Maintain a reference library of industry standards and regulations, including FDA food code manuals, OBRA regulations, and diet manuals.
  10. Ensure menus meet the nutritional needs of residents per dietary guidelines.
  11. Complete assessments in Point Click Care.
  12. Attend weekly risk meetings related to wounds and weight loss.
  13. Monitor dietary alerts and issues.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or related field.
  2. Current active Registered Dietitian License in Pennsylvania.
  3. Two (2) years of experience.
  4. Long-term care experience preferred.
