Job summary

Northwell Health in Mount Kisco, NY is seeking a Nutrition Aide to assist in screening patients at nutritional risk, adjust daily menus per diet prescriptions, and support the dietitian in care planning. The role includes documenting screening information and managing CBORD menu edits under supervision.

Responsibilities include relaying diet changes to kitchen staff, assisting in tray-line production, and training new staff. Per diem shifts available with day and evening hours.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nutrition&Dietetics or related field is required.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones and relays information to kitchen staff concerning diet changes, meal changes, complaints, food allergies, or patient discharge.
• Participates in food service tray-line production and ensures patient meal tray accuracy.
• Under dietitian’s supervision, participates in training and orienting of new employees to the department, tray line, and diet office.
• Screens patients admitted to assigned units to determine nutrition risk(s).
• Obtains and evaluates dietary histories of individuals.
• Identifies patients at high nutrition risk, and refers them to the dietitian, as appropriate.
• Under dietitian’s supervision, provides basic medical nutrition therapy to low risk patients.
• Assists patients in completing special selective menus.
• Assists dietitians in food service monitoring and planning.

Documents patient’s nutritional screening/assessment information. With Manager of Nutrition and Dietetics, Manages and edits CBORD menu system for site.

Work Shift:

Flex Days/Shifts - 7:00AM - 3:00PM & 11:00AM - 7:00PM (PER DIEM)

Job Qualifications:
