Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Dietary Manager to oversee menu modification and coordinate the activities of Dietary Aides, ensuring accurate tray assembly and the safety and cleanliness of food service areas.

You will implement and monitor policies and procedures, participate in performance improvement programs, and coordinate admission/discharge changes and diet orders with nutritionists to meet patient needs across the facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a 90-hour Food Service/Dietary Manager program and at least 2 years supervisory experience in dietetics/food service operations is required.
• Graduate of Diet Technician Program is required or completion of two years of undergrad Nutrition/Dietetics is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities of kitchen workers in preparation and distribution of foods for patients, staff and visitors.
• Process admissions, discharges, transfers and changes of diet orders from computer; contact nutritionist for computation of complicated orders.
• Ensure menu choices are consistent with diet order.
• Ensure menus are available for all patients in assigned area.
• Tallies menus and prepares diet census reports.
• Coordinate personnel and assure proper completion of assignments.
• Check tray assembly line for accuracy; prepare late trays as required.
• Implement and monitor performance improvement programs, including monitoring temperatures and operational issues; inspect work stations at end of shifts.
• Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualification

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.Completion of a ninety (90) hour Food Service/Dietary Manager program AND a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in dietetics and food service operations, required.


• OR Graduate of a Diet Technician Program, required.


• OR Completion of two (2) years of undergraduate Nutrition/Dietetics program, required.
