Military Treatment Facilities under the DHA (DoD) in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a Health Aid and Technician to support Nutrition Services. The role handles patient meal orders, room service coordination, and dietary education within a hospital setting.

Work is full-time in an office environment with potential on-call requirements and adherence to health and safety protocols. The position is in the competitive federal service and involves background checks and immunization requirements.

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience or equivalent familiarity with Dietetics and Nutrition.
• Experience providing food, nutrition, and/or dietetics services; answering calls; delivering customer service; and using computerized systems in a medical facility.

Responsabilités

• Receive and direct phone calls from patients, family members, staff, and dietitians.
• Check electronic medical records for prescribed diet orders and ensure they flow to the nutrition system.
• Maintain control of inpatient meal orders and room service menus.
• Accept meal and nourishment orders from patients, nursing staff, and guests by phone and in person.
• Educate patients on meal ordering procedures and dietary restrictions related to their diet orders.
• Track menu selections for designated nutrients to keep patients within prescribed limits.
